Our Office Takes Infection Seriously
Dentists and patients are concerned about the spread of infections. Our office shares this concern and that is why we have been pro-active in adopting very stringent infection control techniques. These include:
- INSTRUMENT STERILIZATION
All of our instruments are sterilized using either steam sterilization or chemical sterilization. These modalities of sterilization are carried out using either a Statim for steam sterilization or a Chemiclave for chemical sterilization. Also, all handpieces (drills) are sterilized for each patients.
- BARRIER TECHNIQUES
All dental personnel use disposable masks and gloves that are changed for each patient. Also we have incorporated disposable barriers on items that we touch. In addition all disposable materials are disposed in biohazardous container.
- DISINFECTION WIPE-DOWN
All surfaces in the operatories are cleaned and sterilized in-between each patient with a disinfectant that is fast-acting, yet effective.
- WATERLINE DISINFECTION
The waterlines for each office are run everyday so as to flush contaminents out. Also, our operatories have become self-contained units so that city water is not used. Sterile water is used in place and we treat the waterlines with an antibacterial solution.
